George Sofoulis

Director - Business

George is responsible for the design, development and implementation of strategic plans for the company, as well as the day to day running of the company including managing staff and developing business plans in collaboration with the the board for the future. His broad knowledge base and skill set incorporates strong command of all areas of business management and development as well as expertise delivering sales in the global market place.

Steve Carty

Director - Projects

Originally from the UK, Steve has an abundance of experience in procurement, manufacturing/fabrication, project management, QA documentation and procedures as well as experience in AutoCAD and design. Steve also holds certificate IV in occupational health and safety management. Since joining Walcon in 2012, Steve has successfully introduced procedures and systems that have increased the purchasing/procurement and quality assurance effectiveness of the company. He provides accurate pricing and submissions, is responsible for project procurement and continues to build strong relationships with Walcon Marine Australasia on a daily basis.

Ian McAndrew CPA

Senior Group Consultant

Ian has a long and outstanding professional background internationally in the marina industry as a planner, developer, operator and consultant. He sits on numerous Australian marina industry boards and committees and is a Life Member of several major marine organisations. Ian is the world body ICOMIA’s International Marina Group Vice Chairman. He joined Walcon in 2004 and brings invaluable marina development and management knowledge and skills to planners, developers, engineers and clients of Walcon Marine in Australia, Asia and The Pacific where he assists the General Manager in the consulting role on major development projects for Walcon Marine Australasia.

Brett York

General Manager / Engineer

Brett joined Walcon Marine in 2012 and is a key player in our design, engineering and fabrication department providing both the team and clients with design support. Brett has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney and over 15 years experience in AutoCAD drafting. He has experience in the design of floating marina pontoons, gangways and associated components and equipment. Additionally, his previous experience in detailed design and project coordination of marine vessels ranging from 10 to 32 meters, along with approvals from relative survey authorities, assists Walcon Marine to provide quality services to our clients.

Brayden Power

National Business Manager

Brayden joined the Walcon team in 2018, with a background in the composite material industry. His experience with Fibre-Reinforced Polymers (FRP) and Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) has assisted Walcon to expand its capabilities and grow within the marine and civil markets. Brayden is responsible for the development of current and future business, project management and procurement.

Janahan Thiru

Project Manager

The latest addition to our team is the experienced Project Manager, Janahan Thiru. He has
excellent PM education completing a Master of Science in Construction Project Management at the Loughborough University in the UK, as well as possessing a Civil Engineering Degree. He
has been involved in the management of complex projects globally, including high-rise buildings and other large projects. Janahan brings a wealth of project management asset to Walcon Marine Australasia.
