The Big Issue Street Football Festival is an annual event held on a purpose-built floating football pitch in the heart of Darling Harbour, Sydney.
Walcon Marine assisted the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre with helping to deliver a high quality 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa games vision live to thousands of spectators at Darling Harbour.
The Sydney International FIFA Fan Fest™ took place in the atmosphere of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. From 11 June to 12 July 2010, Sydney’s Darling Harbour was transformed with football fever and family fun.
Four screens – three on floating stages – was set up at Cockle Bay and one in Tumbalong Park which gave football fans round the clock coverage of the FIFA World Cup – from Friday 11 June to Monday 12 July.
The screens – up to 9.6 by 6 metres in size – will also beamed back to world images of Sydney – its fans, performances and events. It was all part of an exciting schedule of events arranged by the NSW Government.
