Lake Richmond is an urban wetland located in the suburb of Rockingham about 40 kilometres south of Perth, Western Australia. The Lake Richmond reserve is about 77 hectares in area and is one of the largest freshwater lakes occurring in close proximity to the ocean supporting many biological and social values.
This project was recently finalised by Walcon Marine for the City of Rockingham in May 2014 for the design and construction of a new boardwalk.
Work covered in this project included the provision of all design, building licence certification, labour, materials, equipment and services to perform the excavation, construction, commissioning, compliance and as-constructed documentation for project.
The structure is 120m long and 2000mm wide with a handrail and two seating options at mid points along the boardwalk. The seats are enclosed with a handrail and mid-rail, there is also a 5.0 x 5.0m platform with a seating option at the end of the boardwalk.
