Walcon Marine constructed the Cullen Bay Marina in Darwin in June 2011. The project was completed in two stages predominantly due to the weather conditions during the wet season.
Providing a full replacement of the existing concrete floating structure, Walcon Marine designed and constructed a heavy-duty aluminium structure and facility, designed to handle the cyclonic conditions experienced in the Northern Territory each wet season.
The marina included all fire and emergency services and sewage pump. Additionally, Walcon included potable water and power services that are metered to the marina office via wireless technology. This provided the marina management team with greater ease of reading and invoicing berth owners.
Furthermore, Walcon Marine completed the project on time and on budget, with no additional variations to the original contract.
